Kambis
It would be nice to have a blur filter with variable kernel size based on a BW layer or a mask. This is in particular useful when a depth map is available. This is for example the case when post processing CG. In some cases it is also quit easy to generate an approximate depth map based on some photography, either using some mesh or a stereo pairs. Jimmini
+1 Currently, masks on blur filters only affect the "transparency". In Photoshop it controls the actual radius (Lens Blur): (Left is Photoshop, right is Affinity Photo)
Pixlers
Every filter should have an option to adjust all its variable values with free selectable alpha channel. That would be an unique selling point, not evenPhotoshop can do this. B) anon1, spez and Tupaia

I think the biggest hurdle for this, would be the user interface. But a node editor could be a solution to this, like Blender or the Unreal Engine has. I think I'll even make a separate feature request for that, if there isn't one already. That would make me uncontrollably throw an exorbitant amount of money to the screen. By the way, Photoshop can't do a lot of things that Affinity Photo can. Ian R and Pixlers
