bendito33
I have what I feel is a pretty simple shape with a stroke, but when I expand the stroke the shape changes a lot.The pic below shows the black shape with a stroke (left) and after I expand the stroke (right). Old Bruce
Looks like you have a few co-incident nodes, at the left where the problem is and at the top inside of the C. bendito33 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. bendito33
Thanks @Old Bruce! Curious why the preview wouldn't be an accurate representation of what I would get when I expand the stroke tho...

You start with a Curve, and you can see its Stroke, and you get an accurate view of that Stroke. When you Expand it, you have performed an operation that has given you a different object. There is no preview of "what will this look like if I expand it". bendito33
I would imagine the intention of the expand stroke feature is for the resulting shape to look identical to the stroke prior to it being expanded. If this is not what the Serif team intended, then this can be closed as a non-issue. Otherwise I would submit it as a bug. Brian_J
walt.farrell
That's a good point. And they have made improvements over time, but apparently there are still some areas that could be improved further. Still, in your case, the actual cause may be an improper construction of the original, as @Old Bruce mentioned. bendito33 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
