Hello, I have tried the control center, and Im not sure what could be wrong but it does not work, for example I apply the command control and d and does not deselect my selection.

can you help me with that, maybe there is a setting on the app that Im not applying.

Thank you very much

I mean Affinity photo for Ipad and yes is the command controller

As I don't use the iPad versions, I don't know and can't tell if the command controller's modifiers are meant to be used for deselecting any selection too here. But there seems to be a Quick Menu for deselect tasks.

Further NOTE that there is here on the Forum an Affinity on iPad Questions section, where the more versatile Affinity iPad users can probably answer that Q better!

By default, deselect is CMD+D, not CMD+CTRL+D, so unless you have changed it, that may be why that doesn't work.

The command shortcut Ctrl+D is the Windows equivalent to Cmd+D, so it isn’t the appropriate shortcut for use on iPad.

Unless the shortcut has been changed by the user. However, on iPads I think you can only do that if a hardware keyboard is attached (because otherwise there is no way to change a shortcut in preferences?) so that doesn't seem likely as part of the OP's problem.

Regardless, I find the iPad Command Controller much too fiddly for routine use -- for example, i can never seem to get the lock function to work reliably -- so I seldom if ever use it.

I’m confused. In your original post you wrote:

It isn’t clear to me whether Control () is part of the Command Controller modifier that you’re trying to use.

In Photo 2.1.1 on iPad, with a pixel selection active, the keyboard sequence Cmd+D will deselect it. Setting the Command Center to Cmd, then pressing D on the keyboard, will not deselect it.

I have no idea why someone would want to use the Command Center together with the keyboard to do this, though. If you're going to press D on the keyboard you might as well press Cmd there, too.
