1. Drag a RAW file (CR2 in my case) into an APu document.

2. Select it and hit the "Develop Image" button.

3. Look at the "Lens" panel and you will see three yellow triangles complaining about insufficient metadata.

This bug won't happen, when you place the image via Menu or tool.

I can confirm what you're seeing. This is somewhat inconsistent with what is seen when you apply say the Remove Lens Vignette. The image brightens around the edges to remove any vignette, but that does not mean it's applying it correctly. 

Doing the same in AP does not get the 3 warning triangles, just one.

Maybe it is just me? When several embedded RAWs are placed in the APu document, you select one and click Develop Image there is no selection in the "Develop Persona" of APu. Means, you don't see which image was meant for editing.

Looks like the Develop Image function of APu (or Photo Persona) simply forgets / ignores what is in the image metadata, no matter how the RAW file is placed. Metadata is present, when you open the RAW file in AP

The issue "The image contains insufficient metadata" (REF: AFB-7741) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1902".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
