There is nothing in the human genetic code that makes knowing where to find features instinctual.

Example: where TF is the macros panel? The documentation explains it very clearly, but I'm still looking for it - and getting increasingly annoyed.

In Photo 2, on desktop, in the Photo Persona, should be Window > Macro.

Just as mentioned near the top of the documentation for that panel:

Edit: were you perhaps looking at V1 documentation?

Thanks. I was looking at the documentation you get to from the v.2 latest beta Help menu.

But I guess the online one you linked is better.

They're actually both the same, and not quite as specific as I said.

What they actually say is you can switch it on via the Window menu. But as it's directly in that menu, I consider that good enough,

But my initial thought was that perhaps you were using a web search (Google, etc.), which gets many users confused because they will often end up on the V1 Help pages, which will say to use View > Studio > ... which is not correct for V2. It's best to search within the app's Help, or use https://affinity.help and search there.

There is no problem specifying the correct version when searching in help using Google Search.
for V2: https://www.google.com/search?q=Macro+panel+site:https://affinity.help/photo2
for V1: https://www.google.com/search?q=Macro+panel+site:https://affinity.help/photo

P.S. It is the improved ability to search with Google, which often gives more relevant results than the built-in help search, that is a big benefit of the web version.
