Hello... I have a PDF export problem.
Always when I export from publisher to PDF I get a small white border on the upper end.
but that's only when I merged and rendered to pixel the layer before exporting to pdf.

why did I do that?

because that way gave the best result until now...

when I doesn't merge and render before I get even more ugly results.
for example a white border all around the whole page which partly reaches from the bleed into the design.

I tried exporting all pages at once and also as single pages after one another..
also I tried PDF1.7 and PDFX3:2003 (both with text to curves)
both brought weird errors into the design... stripes or weird typography which was partly not readable anymore...

is there any solution for it?... long ago since I had that massive problem while exporting with AP

thanks in advance for your tipps...

p.s. I attached here 3 files to make the problem visible.

1.png = when I export without merging/rendering to pixels
2.png = when I export with merged/pixel layers
3.png = how it SHOULD be and how the actual design looks like

I guess it shouldn't matter... if you convert them to curves it produced the same issue @LeeThorpe 😬

As the font's take up a different location to the originals due to their shape, I suspect it could.

PDF Export is a mess, I've been trying to export something for an hour now with no success, no matter what I try the bleed doesn't show when using the export persona, and then comes to the various artifacts when exporting to pdf...

I am trying for days to export a book to the printer studio, and the upper top bleed is always with a plus white area.
For what I understood this issue is happening for a long time with Affinity Publisher.

Affinity do you have any idea when is this bug solved?

The problem still isn’t resolved. I tried exporting my new book to PDF again, but I couldn’t get it to work properly. I attempted two different methods. First, I exported the ‘normal’ designed version, but after encountering the errors, I decided to export each page as a JPG instead. That part worked fine, as it always does.
I then imported all the JPGs back into a new book document and exported it again, but I still ended up with the same errors. Please see the attached screenshots for reference.
In the error file, there’s a strange black artifact that shouldn’t be there. For comparison, I’ve also included the original version where this issue doesn’t appear. The error happens on every single page. It seems like parts of other pages are being mirrored in the upper section of each page.
I used PDF-X4 and PDF-X3-2003. didn't matter.I also added another error. (error2.png) its an example of showing another page in the upper part.
the black is right, the colored part is from another page.

oh, and of course I always use the latest versions of my affinity software.

Hi @Tyves apologies for the late response,

Is your device an Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3 etc.) based Mac? If so, there is a known issue logged with raster corruptions that can occur on PDF export. The problem relates to the 'JPEG Compression' setting in the PDF export settings; setting this value to '100' on PDF export may resolve this. However, I'd suggest disabling 'Hardware Acceleration' in the app Settings -> Performance and then restarting the app; this will hopefully prevent these corruptions moving forward.
