MikeTO Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I could swear I've seen somebody else report this but I can't find it right now. Do you have any printer presets set up? Do you have a printer that you previously printed to from Affinity that isn't connected right now? You could try starting Affinity with Ctrl held down (press it immediately after clicking the icon) and then choosing Clear User Defaults. Good luck! Gitmesteak Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 @MikeTO I cleared out all previously saved printers. Cleared user defaults and created new file. Went to print it, got the print dialog and sent to printer by selecting near by printer (AirPrint SC800). I cleared all printers again, added printer via IP after reinstalling drivers, created file and sent and printed successfully, Additional info: My presets were saved for the printer. I printed via presets and they worked with no crashing or hung up issue. Once I rebooted, the issue comes back and the printer dialog is no longer displayed. MikeTO 1 Quote
MikeTO Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I'm glad you were able to get it working. I suggested this because there had been an issue with N-Up printing presets when Ventura was first released. Perhaps there's something else related still lurking. Gitmesteak Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 Hello Mike, The issue comes back after reboot. I edited my previously submitted reply. Thanks, Quote
Staff Chris B Posted April 25, 2023 Staff Posted April 25, 2023 Hi Gitmesteak, I see you've found the other thread with this report. Unfortunately we haven't been able to reproduce this internally. There are or have been a few issues around this such as crashing/freezing in the print dialog or some oddition within it—just no log of it not appearing. A recent crash was to do with changing the Range to Selection. Perhaps it's crashing before it appears for you. Do you ever change the Range setting? Gitmesteak Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Hello Chris B, If you need a certain log file please let me know and I can provide it from my environment. After trouble shooting, and multiple reboots. I was able to get get the printer dialog displaying and printing consistently. I had to remove the Com.apple.print.custompresets and went ahead and removed the presets within the print dialog (Edit preset list option). I did however got the hang up issue after installing the printer via (IP) option. When power cycling, the dialog will not send job to the printer. It freezes and the user will not be able to cancel out the print window. Once I try to sent the job to via the bonjour/AirPrint option, the IP seems to wake and can print successfully. At this point I will only use AirPrint. No issues when changing the range. Quote
MikeTO Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 @Gitmesteak The next time it happens, choose Print in another app like Safari and take a screenshot of the dialog to show all the settings. You may have to scale the dialog taller to capture all of the settings. Perhaps there will be a clue there.
