tanmayswami Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Why this software doesn't use GPU despite having a very good and big GPU... Quote
fde101 Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 If your GPU is from AMD you might want to read this thread: Quote
Dan C Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Hi @tanmayswami, Welcome to the Affinity Forums I can confirm that the Affinity apps will utilise your GPU to improve the rendering speed of your file on the canvas - for example when using filters or adjustments, in order to draw your document as quickly as possible. Unfortunately the GPU is not used to the same extent when exporting from the Affinity apps, as these files are created using the CPU instead, hence this is at 100% in your screenshot. I hope this clears things up! Quote
tanmayswami Posted April 19, 2023 Author Posted April 19, 2023 Show me if this can be solved so that the software performance and also the gpu is used more. Pšenda 1 Quote
Dan C Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 As mentioned above, the app does not use the GPU for exporting - it is used to speed up rendering on the canvas when using filters, adjustments etc. This is expected behaviour and there is no option to change the export to use the GPU at this time. tanmayswami Posted April 19, 2023 Author Posted April 19, 2023 If you do max gpu usage in export it will work fine... 1 hour ago, Dan C said: As mentioned above, the app does not use the GPU for exporting - it is used to speed up rendering on the canvas when using filters, adjustments etc. This is expected behaviour and there is no option to change the export to use the GPU at this time. Mixing makes discussions and tracking confusing and difficult. In any case, Google Fonts work, but make sure you install the Static versions, not the Variable versions.
