Casperwitz
I would like to distort a flag with waves and appropriate shadowing. Is there an equivalent to PS Filter/Distort/Wave etc? Or should this be a feature request?
Staff Lee D Posted February 27, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 27, 2016 Hi Casperwitz, Welcome to the forums. Photo has a Ripple filter available which is similar to the Wave filter, I've attached a screenshot showing both the standard image and with the Ripple filter applied. You can also post in our Feature Request section for something more suitable Hope this helps. L
Casperwitz
Thanks Lee, I have tried the ripple filter, it is concentric and doesn't look like waving (in the wind). Will post as suggested.
batvink
Late to the party but this is achievable. Add a displacement filter. For the displacement image, use a greyscale ruffled cloth, blur it to get a soft effect Add the distortion, just a little goes a long way Load the same displacement image above the flag. Set the blend to hard light and reduce the opacity. firstdefence
Mesh warp tool is probably the best in-house option, else third party plugins like Filterforge have filters to distort flags such as Flags: By Phagor ignore the 80% off, it’s always got 80% off Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... John Rostron
You could try my macro here. It does the rippling, but not the shading.
