Please see attached PNGs - the final image is a multiple exposure of 5 images. I have also opened the file in Affinity 1, with the same result. The jpeg opens as it should look.

Hi @Geoff2250,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums & sorry to see you're having trouble!

How are you merging these multiple exposures and saving in the .CR3 format please?

I'd like to request a copy of this image in order to investigate further - can you please upload a copy of this .CR3 file here for me? If you'd like a private upload link for this file, please don't hesitate to let me know :)

According to its documentation, the Canon EOS R6 can natively create multiple-exposure RAW files.

That's nothing new with the EOS R models. My old, Canon 70D has that feature also.

I thought I'd replied to this thread already but it seems I put my comment in the wrong place. An added delay was because I had had to retrieve the e-mails from Spam.

The camera is an R6. Did you mean you wanted me to send the CR3 file itself ?

I might be able to as it's about a 20mb file,  but anything bigger and I don't think my internet could cope. As this was my very first attempt at processing this (and one of only a few tries at this type of photography) I didn't know if this was a "one off", but since my first attempt last week I thought I would try and process another and have had a similar reaction but this time purple was affected as well as red.

If you want me to send the comparisons for this one please let me know.

A copy of the .CR3 file which shows this issue would be best please, as I have tried to find a sample online for testing purposes but have thus far been unable.

You should be able to upload a copy of this CR3 directly to your reply here, but if you're having any trouble with this please let me know and I can provide an external Dropbox link for upload instead :)

I'm having exactly the same issue with a double exposure captured on the canon rp.

I'm sorry to hear this @joco - as above I'd like to request a copy of your .CR3 file for further testing here & so I can report this to our developers.

Are you able to attach a sample .CR3 file here which shows this issue please? :)

Many thanks for providing that for me! I can confirm I have been able to replicate this issue and will be logging this with our development team now.

I understand this thread is a bug report for Windows, but any Affinity users on macOS can change their RAW engine (Affinity Photo 2 > Preferences > Assistant > Develop Assistant > RAW Engine) to Apple Core and the RAW file will then load as expected.

I hope this helps :)

In further testing, it appears though this issue is already resolved in the latest beta version 2.1.0.1769 -

You can find out how to sign up for the latest beta here if you wish -

I hope this helps :)
