Dave HM Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I created some artistic text, then warped it, then converted it to curves. I then grouped each curve as a separate letter and divided them. But one curve gets deleted when I try to divide it. I am able to work around this by using the LAYER / GEOMETRY / SEPARATE function, so this isn't a critical issue, but thought it weird enough to mention. I tried using the same text without the warp and it worked fine. Quote

Dave HM Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Attached. Try to divide the H that is not locked. hg02.afdesign Quote

Dave HM Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Reversing worked. Not sure why, and why it only happened to this one curve, but thanks. Quote
firstdefence Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 You have a lot of overlaps on the flowers. Move the nodes so they look like below and the H will divide. Dave HM Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Thank you. I will keep this in mind. I suppose I expected a different result from whatever the problem was (which you just defined) than the entire curve being deleted. Quote

I suppose I expected a different result from whatever the problem was (which you just defined) than the entire curve being deleted. Overlaps do not provoke a complete deletion by Divide, and it can be seen that the successfully divided letters had similar overlaps. The real problem is a failure of Divide to process one particular node shown in the screenshot below. If you delete the extended handle (alt/opt-click on the handle), the object can be successfully divided like the others have been. Alfred 1 Quote
Dave HM Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Good catch. I wonder if this is a feature or a bug. Thanks. Quote
