Rick G Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 This is broken in both the bet and release version If you select and load a sample color and then choose Select / Select sample color" it will select something but not the sample color I've tried this on several graphics. I enclose one that has a lot of separate areas of the chosen color (White in this case) Affinity Select color selection issue.mp4 Quote Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
NotMyFault Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Not sure if you use „select sampled color“ as it has been designed. It is totally independent from color panel. After activating select sampled color, every click with mouse on the canvas makes a new sample. It uses the sampled color to select a pixel area based on similarity of colors. The result is shows as selection in the canvas. In your video, i can‘t spot any click to the canvas, so the initial selection is random (it shows any existing older selection, similar to „reselect“. You need to click at least once into the canvas before you get any deterministic result. Color panel sampler: samples a color from canvas and activates it in color panel, to be used e.g. as stroke or fill, or with brushes. Select sampled color: with every click on canvas, you sample a color which is used to select a pixel area in the canvas. Setting tolerance to 100% will select the full canvas area. Dan C Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 As I understand it, NotMyFault is correct in the above - the 'Select Sampled Colour' option does not take your currently active fill, or picked colour in the Colour studio into account when initiating the tool. I hope this clears things up Quote
