Editing text in AD v1

I've just gone back to edit some text previously typed and 'Soft return' - i.e. 'Shift+Enter'
is not working. It is giving me a paragraph return. Why is this?

What sort of text are you editing – Frame Text or Artistic Text – and what makes you think there’s a paragraph break instead of a soft return?

I’ve just created some text in Designer V1, switched the document over to Publisher so I can see the special characters – and I get soft returns in both Frame Text and Artistic Text – see attached image.

Sorry I should have said that it was Frame text. What you have above in Frame text is what I was expecting but I didn't get the soft return.

I'm to restart my computer to see if that helps.

Coincidentally, I noticed just yesterday that on my iPad, Shift+Enter gives a Paragraph Break in all the Affinity apps, both V1 and V2, and for both Frame and Art Text.

Not sure why....

I don’t have a Magic Keyboard, but I’ll check later with the onscreen keyboard on my iPad Air 2.

Shift+Enter via the OSK in AD2 gives me a paragraph break, but if I switch the keyboard to access the ‘Line Break’ button it works as expected.
