Hello my fellow Affinity peeps. By any chance has anybody had this issue where the page number from the Master page will not go into my text box Only on one page of my book?

Here is my master page with page number box in the correct spot, and all the page numbers are correct on every single page except for page 6.image.png.c5cca35935aa3e26b7b8b7d3ebadcb31.png

Now here is page 6 with the 6 outside of the text frame. I cannot get the six in the text frame no matter what I try.

From the Master page layer on page 6 I have checked the "edit detached" and I can move the box but when I do, the box moves but the 6 stays where it is. I also tried the different alignments to get the six higher but the 6 will not move into the text frame. I'm not sure what I am missing. Thanks

It appears there's an overflow symbol showing up. What happens when you extend the p/n box up (or down) by grabbing a handle?

I didn't mean for you to move the box. You have a text overflow indicator showing. What happens when you lengthen the box until that disappears? Or, enlarge the box until the red symbol disappears. Does anything else show up in the box?

Or, perhaps you could try clearing the master on that page, and re-apply it. (Don't forget to save a backup, first.)

I can only move the box but cannot lengthen or change the size of the box. Thank you for your help.

Is the text frame of the page number aligned to a baseline grid? Possibly the setting of the baseline grid fixes the "6" there.

Or does the main text frame possibly supersede the "6"?

Could it be the text wrap settings on either your page text or the number frame settings on the master page?

what is weird is that the text frame of the page number is aligned to the baseline grid on every page except this one (as is placed on the master page). But I was able to pull up my text frame and therefore give more room to put the 6 higher up. As show at least removes the preflight error I was getting so I'll leave it there I guess. Thank you all for the help. Ugh, i'm such a noob.

I'm not sure, but that could possibly be caused by the Text Wrap of the main text frame, if it is somehow activated only on page 6. That's what StuartRC meant, and what I meant too. Text Wrap is made to supersede text in different ways to let it flow around shapes or fill shaped text frames.
