oliver_fuchs
Hi, Today I ran into the following problem: the bottom layer is the top layer and vice versa - when trying to move the top layer forward with the "move to front" command, it moves backwards - and vice versa. Does anyone have an explanation for this (the file as affinity file attached) (Latest Affinity Phot version on latest windows version) Layer_wrong.afphoto

It might be due to the underlayed used datastructure here which holds internally the layer elements. If it is a circular linear list the elements can be move that way around at either end. oliver_fuchs 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
walt.farrell
It's because of the Blend Ranges, which for both layers are set this way: h_d and oliver_fuchs 1 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
- S -
IMO, Serif should add an icon to the layer when Blend Options adjustments are not set to the default values – like they do with Layer Effects. Currently there's no indication to the user at all. walt.farrell, lepr and oliver_fuchs 2

And that has been requested, probably multiple times. oliver_fuchs 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
oliver_fuchs
HI, thanks for the reply ... thought i will lose my mind . I have always assumed that the blend options are set to "default after i rasterized and trimmed the layer - like in "merge visible" Thank you!!! oliver_fuchs
P.S.: Here is a checklist in case things in Affinity Photo don't look/behave the way they should: 1) Check your Blend Ranges 2) Check select/deselct 3) Check Navigator Zoom level (100%)
