alhagrafisk Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 See attached file. Sometimes the text moves out to the right from the document itself. To get it back in place, I need to close the document and open again. Then the text is again in the middle of the document. Designer V2.pdf Quote

Hangman Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 @alhagrafisk, thanks for the file... I can't see any issues with it... could you provide a little more context in terms of what you are doing with the file when the text moves out to the right of the document? The screengrab in your first post differs from the file you've uploaded in terms of size and layout... in your screengrab what does the actual text that is off the canvas say? A screengrab of you entire screen showing both the layers and colour panel would be helpful... Old Bruce Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Really weird file. There are Guides which are off the artboard. And then there are guides which are off the artboard after I use the View > Guides and clear all the guides but will reappear if I draw something off of the artboard. These reappearing guides are different in number. Here I have added an Art Text Text object after clearing all the guides. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

These reappearing guides are different in number. So, I can replicate this behaviour... Steps to Reproduce Create a new 400 dpi, A6 Document Add Artistic text to Document Canvas and apply Horizontal Scaling to the text and/or scale the text box Add an A6 Rectangle with a White Fill at the top of the layer stack Select the A6 Rectangle Layer and choose Layer > Convert Object to Artboard Nest all graphic layers inside the Artboard Add Guides to the Artboard (for the sake of argument using the same positioning as per the OPs uploaded file) Select the Artboard and resize its Height around its centre using the Transform Panel to H 84mm Go to the Guides Manager and select Remove All Guides Draw a shape or add a text frame anywhere outside the artboard Go back to the Guides Manager and Note how all the previously deleted guides have all reappeared. The screen Recording shows from Step 7 onwards Content Moves.mp4 This doesn't answer the original question but does appear to be some sort of bug... @alhagrafisk, if you could perhaps talk us through the steps you took to create your document that may help to identify what is going on here... alhagrafisk Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks for replying. I'll look at it and come back. Quote
alhagrafisk Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 It began with a scan of the logo from a letterhead that looked like OSG_1. Created a document on A4 and placed the scan in the document. Found the used font. Drew the three figures and used guides to mark the top and bottom and the height of the head. Used Artboard Tool to customize. Saved the document as the original logo. Made a copy to change the setup. OSG_2. Divided the writing into 2 lines and moved GYMNASTIK under the figures. Resized the shapes of the figures. Placed guides on both sides to determine the width of the font. Saved and closed. Today I wanted to try your explanations. Couldn't quite get it to succeed though. Opened the document OSG_2. Now I was going to lunch. Pressed the yellow circle so that the document fell into the dock. Continued after lunch and took out the document from the dock. Result as OSG_3. Closed the document and reopened. Then it is in place. I have experienced something similar in Publisher, both v1 and v2. There I can simply click on the page icons on the left side, and the text and illustrations are placed again in their correct place. It's v2 2.0.4 I'm using. As for guides, in Adobe's programs that I have used since they appeared, I have never experienced that they have an impact on the result. OSG_1.afdesign OSG_2.afdesign Quote
Hangman Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 So is the main issue simply than when you scale the graphics, the bounding box for those graphics is incorrectly positioned like this, in a similar way to the pdf in your first post, i.e., the bounding box appears outside the canvas or are you experiencing other issues with the file? alhagrafisk Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 No. All I did was click on the document in the dock. Quote
Staff Callum Posted February 15, 2023 Staff Posted February 15, 2023 Hi Alhagrafisk, Please could you provide a screen recording demonstrating this issue or steps alongside a sample file I can use to recreate this problem? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
alhagrafisk Posted February 17, 2023 Author Posted February 17, 2023 Hi Callum. I have tried to recreate the situation. But now, of course, this does not happen. Also, it's not every time I open a document that I experience the problem. So I can only refer to the previously uploaded text and files. Mvh Hans hans@alhagrafisk.dk Quote
