typopoint
Hi I got a new NAS and copied the data from the old one to the new one there. Now when I want to open an Affinity Publisher 2 file, I always get the error message "An error occurred connecting to the server "*********" and the file does not open. Has anyone had the same problem?

Has anyone had the same problem? Hi @typopoint, to sort out if this is a problem with the file itself or with the connection to your NAS I recommend to copy the file to your desktop and try to open it from there. If that works this is a hint that it might be a problem with the configuration of your new NAS. You also can try to open different files with different applications (e.g. text documents) to see if the same problem occurs. We have seen problems with files on network drives. But I am not sure at the moment if those problems have been resolved. d. typopoint
Only the Publisher V2 files cannot be opened. V1 and files from other programs work.
walt.farrell
What OS do you use? For Windows, you can press and hold Ctrl while starting the application, and one of the settings in the Clear User Data dialog will tell it not to restore windows and documents. On Mac the options are different, I think. I will just add that it is not advisable to work directly with external files (even Serif always recommends working locally). walt.farrell
Thanks. From another post, possibly deleting the mru.dat file would help resolve this. You will need to adjust the path name mentioned there to apply to Publisher rather than Designer.
