MikeRigby Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Hello. I’m still trying to learn my way around Affinity Photo V2 on iPad. I want to do localised contrast adjustments with curves, and mask out parts of the curves adjustment so it only affects specific parts of my image. I want to have MORE than one curves adjustment layer to do this, but when I go to the adjustments panel, and click “curves”, all Affinity Photo V2 does is take me right back to the first curves adjustment layer I’ve applied. How do I add more than ONE of the same type of adjustment layer? Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @MikeRigby. Sounds like you still have that Adjustment layer selected in the Layers studio. So, open the Layers studio and reselect the layer you want the adjustment to operate on. NotMyFault Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Affinity on IPad does not allow to add another adjustment layer of the same type while an existing one is selected in layer stack. If this is the topmost layer and you wNt to add another one on top this is a problem. I have several personal workarounds: use duplicate, then modify or reset the settings add a empty pixel layer (and delete later when no longer needed) before adding adjustments use assets to save a “neutral” adjustment layer, and add from assets Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. How do I add more than ONE of the same type of adjustment layer? Simply nest your adjustments like this. here are two curve adjustments, remember in Affinity you don’t have to add separate masks as live filter layers and adjustment layers are their own masks so as you can see here I have crudely painted in black and white onto the two curve adjustment masks.
