Affinity 2 exe files

Are you intending to make the exe files for the suite visible any time soon please? It is rather tedious to have to save to disk from other software before working in Affinity!

Why not configure your other software to use the aflaunch.exe helper application?

Quite simply they are unable to find it. Most of the time now I work with other software. I find this preferable to prepare as much as possible within the flexibilities of RAW and often it leaves very little needed in Photo, so my main Affinity use now is Publisher. When I try to direct software to the aflaunch helper it is refused access.

An interesting question: How can someone participating in a discussion be a non participating member? Not intended to be in any way sarcastic or aggressive but curious.

Another edit. Having now read the thread you linked I'm afraid I am baffled by the jargon: unsandboxed; sandboxed

This issue seems to remain unaddressed despite the many improvements to version 2. It does make life awkward when using Affinity with specialist software.

The issue of accessing MSIX-based apps from other software can only be addressed by:

  1. The other software being improved to handle this kind of Windows application; or by
  2. The user making use of the aflaunch.exe helper application that Serif provided; or by
  3. The user installing the alternative EXE/MSI-based version of the Affinity software, instead.

Serif has no control over whether the other applications implement #1.

Serif released the alternative installers about 5 months ago, and it is in your control whether you choose to use them, or not:

Note that if you're going to use them, you should uninstall the MSIX-based versions you have now, before installing via the new installers. Also, once you have installed the EXE/MSI-based versions, you will need to handle updating from release to release manually, by downloading the new installer when prompted, closing the app, and running the installer. When you do the download, you will need to be careful to install the right version of the installer. (This could be a little cleaner.)

To add to @walt.farrells posting;

If you are using the msix versions of the Affinity programs and are unable to bridge it to other programs, the user @rvst  made an excellent exe to which you would make a bridge to.
You just need to download it from github and rename AffinityPhotoLauncher.exe  to any of these;
AffinityPublisher2.exe
AffinityPhoto2.exe
AffinityDesigner2.exe

and link your other programs to that exe.
Keep the exe file in a place where you don´t accidentally delete it.
I even made three copies of that exe and renamed them so I can easily link to each Affinity program depending on the usecase.
