Hello,

I would like to insert a hard line break, i.e. with ALT+ENTER in the data source in the data field, so that it is also adopted in the data merge. Unfortunately, it no longer works with the V2. With the V1 version it went without problems.

How can I make this possible?

For example:
It should look like this in a field content:
Name >ALT+ENTER
Address >ALT+ENTER
Email > ALT+ENTER

Note: Since there can be more than 3 lines in the field, I didn't want to add an extra data field in the data source.
It is more compact and easier if it would be entered and taken over in a data field.

Did you get any results??

I would like to add another question to yours . . . .

How can I get rid of the empty line, that is automatically generated by an empty column in Excel??

Sometimes there are additional Information that are not in every line in excel.

For example:

Name: Peter Mustermann

Street: Am Hof 1

Addition to adress: Appartment 609

City: 51145 Cologne

Name: Klaus Mustermann

Street: An der Bitz 4

Addition to adress:

City: 53115 Bonn

Hope you get what I mean ;-)

In other Programs like InDesign ther is a function to ignor empty columns while importing from Excel.

Is this also possible in Affinity??

I haven't gotten a solution yet, but I'm putting a each line separately in a field with no line breaks. This is more cumbersome and requires more table fields but it works then.

Regarding your question, I don't have a solution but to try it would be the following: in the table field where there is no text, you could put a space. Maybe this could work then.

Sadly the answer is no.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Tried it but i didn’t work so far.

thanks for all replies!!! I did a workaround to get the job done. Splitted the excel job in three different parts, imported the data and exported the jobs in 3 pdf files that i finally merged together for the printjob.

cheers to evrybody!!!
