Lich555 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Hi I've got the attached image. I've already done the selection and masked it out (don't bother about the Recolor). Is there a way to export it, so I can return to the image tomorrow or any other time, and still have the selected mask there so I don't have to select it everytime I want to do something with it? Old Bruce Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Channels are your friend. Open the Channels pane aftering select the Mask layer in the Layers panel then right click on the Alpha for the Mask in the Channels panel and you should see something like New Spare Channel from Layer Alpha Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
NotMyFault Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 You can save selections as files, or convert selections from/to mask layers, or as Old Bruce said use channels panel and spare channels. choose your favorite 🤩 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. I would expect also saving as Asset would work – but in my V1 it seems, though the adjustment layer does work, its nested mask layer gets ignored or corrupted when it gets used from the Asset panel and then even disables the adjustment unless the mask gets disabled in the Layers panel. – Maybe it's improved in V2.
