I'm old to Photoshop. New to Affinity. I"m having trouble finding equivalency between the transform tool in Pshop with that in Affinity.

In Photoshop, I can scale using units of my choice: pixel, inches, metric, percentage, etc. All I"m seeing in Affinity is pixel. I can't find (either in the tool or the instructions for the tool) any other choices.

I'm trying to transform 12 images in the exact same way, for an animation. I can do it by eye, but it would be much better to scale them all in the exact same way. I just can't seem to find a way to do it in Affinity.

You can enter any unit directly in the transform panel, after the number. So even if your document is using px, you can resize to e.g. 2cm, 1in, 3pt etc by just typing that into the input field. The units will be automatically converted into the document units.

Ah!!! Fantastic. And I just tried it using the "%" symbol and it scaled by that percent!

I had previously found that page in the manual, and I'm looking at it again. I don't see where it is saying you can do this.🧐

Thank you VERY much.

Maybe you are missing this overview of the possible "Expressions for field input":

https://affinity.help/publisher/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Workspace/expressions.html?title=Expressions for field input

If you want to change the unit permanently for a document you can choose a unit with a right click on the ruler's intersection (the current unit) in the upper left corner:

Why am I getting so much wonderful help from Germany?  😁 Thank you. I would never in a million years figure out that there was a connection between the ruler and the transform tool. To change units for transform in Photoshop I right click on the units box WITHIN the transform tool.

There are so many similarities in shortcuts between Pshop and Affinity that it has made a transfer relatively easy. But there are these speed bumps like this that have been a bit maddening.

Thanks for the link about Expressions. That could be useful.

You can also do this from the Context Toolbar when the View Tool is selected, the one whose icon looks like a hand.

Thank you RCR. That's good to know too. But that's just the problem I was having! When I had the transform tool activated, I kept looking at the context bar and never finding a way to change units there. This is just another example of it being in a place that is counter intuitive, at least for me. In hindsight I can understand it perfectly well. But I fail to understand why that option isn't available within the transform itself. But at least now I know the magical trick to do that.
