Cannot install in D:\Program Files - When will MSI installer be available.

I bought V1 a month ago only to have it just discontinued after I purchased it.

So I was required to purchase V2 to get the fixed larger icons on the iPad and Windows.

The new interface has the bigger icons so I should be able to see them, but I cannot actually install it?

The MSIX won't let me select my D:\Program Files folder. I don't have a C:\Program Files as my C:\ is small and already full so it has no space. Everything I install is in D:\Program Files all the time.

Please send me the MSI link so I can select the D:\Program Files location.

You can move MSIX programmes to D:\ after installation (Windows settings > Apps).

They can't if their C drive is too small, as they have said it is, to do the initial installation. Also, some Windows users have reported that for them, trying to Move after the installation fails.

There is also an option in Windows to specify that the install should happen initiallly on a different drive. Again, though, that seems to work for some users but fail for others.

Serif have not said anything about having an MSI installer yet. They are working on one, and plan to have it available during the current customer beta cycle (2.0.3 on Windows), but have not said precisely when it will be available.

I've misread, too, @Michail. It happens.

The files are huge like over 1.5GB each. I have custom install folders so I don't have a WindowsApps folder on my D:\

Also Windows Apps are the WORST. They are buggy and they fail if you breath wrong. I am a computer specialist and manage 86,000 computers and we are constantly having to reimage because one user profile gets corrupted and it permanently borks all Windows Apps for all users with no way to recover.

Windows Apps install per USER registry keys in HKEY Local Machine. They will not function if there are any mis match of keys. They just open and close with no errors.

If the Move process works, it will create a WindowsApp folder for you. You cannot have custom install folders for MSIX-based applications.

You can, of course, wait for the MSI installers.

@lforbes

In another post, they announced the latest patch will land shortly and the MSI installers with patch shortly after.

Here is the link.

very much waiting for this. I CANNOT install MSIX anything on my workflow. 3D companies I work for forbid these installers.

I purchased on Nov 9th and patiently waiting. But yikes what a mess. This forum seems to be nothing but issues with the new installer.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, as my dad used to say.  Sure EXE files are not perfect, but I never saw this amount of issues with the old installer.
