GuyMiklos
I'm half way through creating my book and realise that I can't publish it without cross references. They are essential for the book's purpose. Markio, Archangel and MikeTO 3 Quote MacBook Pro, Retina, mid-2015, macOS Monteray, RAM: 16 GB, CPU Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 2,8 GHz. sfriedberg
@_Th He's talking about cross references, not footnotes, indexes or tables of contents. As in "See Figure 42 on page 14." where "42" and "14" are field values of a reference object inserted at the point of interest. There is a meagre hack one can do with linked text frames in AffPub to get the page number, but it is really painful, does not scale well, and has absolutely none of the the management panels one would get with a supported feature. The entry in the Publisher help for "Cross References" is the basis for that meagre hack. PaoloT, garrettm30 and Archangel 2
_Th
@sfriedberg Thanks for the clarification, that's a huge difference. I spoke too soon. 😞
PaoloT
I subscribe to this request. At the same time, I would be more than happy if we could start posing questions in a way sounding less harsh, and not as we were pretending something. I'll work on that. Thanks for clarification sfriedman. Quote MacBook Pro, Retina, mid-2015, macOS Monteray, RAM: 16 GB, CPU Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 2,8 GHz.
