Colin Red Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 hi there, my friend has Affinity Photo version 1 and version 2 ... In the Develop Persona when adjusting the exposure slider to the right the clipped areas in the image do not show as red but as a checker box effect similar to using the eraser tool. Also the same effect happens when using the curves adjustment. This happens in both versions 1 and 2 Big Sur on MacBook 2014 Any ideas gratefully received Quote
Staff Chris B Posted December 1, 2022 Staff Posted December 1, 2022 Hi Colin Red, I cannot reproduce this so it might be image specific. Any chance you can attach one of the images you're working on so we can investigate please? Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials

Staff MEB Posted December 1, 2022 Staff Posted December 1, 2022 Hi @Colin Red, This is a known issue on systems with an Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB or Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB graphic chips when Metal compute acceleration is turned ON. I believe you have an Intel Iris chip on your MAc. Can you confirm please? If you turn Metal compute acceleration OFF in Affinity Preferences, Performance section it should work correctly. Another alternative/workaround is to keep the Metal compute acceleration turned ON and switch the RAW Output format in the Develop Assistant to RGB 32 rather than RGB 16 bit (then convert to RGB 16 in Photo Persona if required).
