Affinity Photo 2.0 Crashing/Closing all the time

Recommended Posts

I have the same problems, the first file forgets my adjustments when I develop the photo and the third closed Affinity when I pressed develop. When I crop the first photo it remembers the adjustments on developing. I used disk cleanup in windows 10 and the crashing seams to have corrected itself. There's another problem when I save the adjusted picture it asks me if I want to overwrite the first copy. It changes the file number to one already used.

Kind regards Steve

Same here. 2 is still crashing on win 10:(

I'm using also 1 and its much better.

Is this using 2.1? If so, they just went live with 2.2. Try downloading and installing it to see if it crashes for you.

Hello Everyone. Have this problem been solved... my Affinity Photo 2 crashes every ten minutes... sometimes if I select the eraser tool, some other time if i select a different brush... it crashes about 50 times a day... I cannot work like this. I am currently under windows 11. My file is pretty big, is a map 7000x5000 pixels... and i Have affinity photo 2.4.0 (exe version)... I don't know what is best to do at this point... I wonder if unistall and install again could solve something or if i need to format my pc...

Welcome to the forums :)

Where is the file located? On a local drive, NAS, USB External Drive, Cloud? Serif has stated it's always better to work off a local drive, then back-up to the others.

Do you have Hardware Acceleration enabled or disabled? It's enabled by default. A quick way to disable it:

  • Hold down the Control Key while launching Affinity Photo. The Clear User Data dialog will appear over the splash screen.
  • There are 2 sections, the top section is where the option is located.
  • You can uncheck the top 3, however you need to check the 4th one, Disable Hardware Acceleration
  • Press the Clear button in the bottom right, and Photo should continue to launch with HA disabled.

If this doesn't help, please post back..
