Do we have to convert text to curves to add a contour?

All my other programs, I can leave the text so it can be edited later with an outline. I tried to add contour to numbers for an outline and it disappears.

When you say “add a contour” do you mean use the Contour Tool, or something else?

You can use the Contour Tool on Artistic Text.

However, you might need to find ‘the sweet spot’ of where to drag to see the contour; just try dragging back and forth until you see something.

If this doesn’t help, can you give us a full-screen screenshot or video so we can see what you you see?

All Im trying to do is add an outline to a few numbers. Attached is where I did it with another program. And is still editable.

As for Affinity Design, I even tried to change the width manually by as little as 1 pix in the top settings with NO luck.

I was able to do in in AD ONLY after converting the text to shapes, hence is no longer editable.

Hi @Calvert, with your text layer selected, you can change the colour with the colour panel, make sure that you have the colour wells like the screenshot, the full circle is for the fill, the hollow circle is for the stroke colour

To change the width you need the stroke panel

I dont think you understand. The color is fine until I apply a contour to create an outline.

Sorry I can't help further, your image didn't look like a contour. I

f you mean using the contour tool then change to the stroke to add the colour, it works for me and the text remains editable
