Designer: stroke shortcut increment

Recommended Posts

Hello, while is very handy to increase or decrease stroke width using shortcuts, but I don't understand why it does not uses whole pixels increments, in fact I don't understand the steps there, see Gif. Is there any related preference that I'm missing?

It seems to increase / decrease by a relative amount of 11% so 10pt goes to 11.1pt, 20pt goes to 22.2pt

Which seems very arbitrary and not very useful!

I think that absolute amounts would be more helpful.

No settings to change the behaviour.

Actually holding shift does constrain to whole pixels. Guess could argue it should be the other way round, so nudge buy whole pixels default behaviour and shift accelerates to be % based.

@Ideagonal, also consider that you're displaying the stroke weight in points rather than pixels so the document dpi will have an impact on the stroke width increments you see. You will only see whole pixel increments using Shift [ or Shift ] when the stroke width is shown in pixels.
