However the app defaults to a new Affinity folder on my iCloud account, which is empty. I did not create this folder and there is nothing in the folder to import. That "Import" option is for your application settings, and installed add-ons (Brushes, Assets, Styles, etc.). It is not for files you created in the V1 apps (.afphoto, .afdesign, .afpub), which you will find in your file system where you last Saved them. For that content, just use it from where it currently resides, or you can copy or move it manually. bhaynet1 Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Thank you, Walt!! It was not clear to me as when it said IMPORTz CONTENT - I thought it meant the content from V1, EX. recent files, etc. - And as a veeeerrrry lightweight user, I was looking for some kind of How To upgrade / instal & explanation tutorials which are non existent. Thank you so much for clearly explaining this! Perhaps Serif should take note & make an explainer video! THANK YOU! ❣️ Quote

JoJu Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 This might be the entirely wrong topic, but posing my question "How to create a template for manuals in Publisher" led to no results. I'd be more than happy to get an information to which of the many topics my request suits best. I'd like to see either a kind of a template to download and modify or to watch a more strategic tutorial video on how to put my own template together. Step by step, what is the most important to start with? What is depending on what? Tables in publisher appear to be a box of surprises, but admittedly I simply don't understand the connection between text formats and table formats. I'm no native English speaker, which makes the whole process to learn a bit harder. No, three bits harder, linguistic ignorance of Affinity is not always helpful. I don't know much about InDesign. I'm working as technical author and always had templates for FrameMaker and for CMS, did also some modifications on them. But I never had to create one from scratch. And even now, I do have two final products (two manuals from two camera manufacturers) which lack some informations, some better translations, sometime even only cross-referenced links, but I could use some of their layout ideas. So far I imported the PDF in Publisher, which worked sort of well enough. Started to create paragraph and text formats, but the longer I do that, the more I wish for a template to limit my format deviations. Any suggestion would be welcome, sorry for not doing a two hour search through all topics. Quote

I can not see that you have posted that question anywhere in these forums (at least not for the past two years under a title like that). If I've missed it, my apologies. The correct place for such a question would be either Affinity on Desktop Questions or Affinity on iPad Questions, depending on which device you use, and I would recommend you post a new topic (rather than tagging on to someone else's). JoJu Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Thank you Walt, I've been looking at them, but since templates are a thing of Publisher, I found "Affinity" a bit to general. No, I haven't posted such a question before. Honestly I tried Publisher few times and found it as complicated as InDesign remained for me. Too much little screws to adjust and influence things. There's a relation between screws and "screw up" and with my lack of solid knowledge about that I better stick with a text processor like pages. And notes can also do sort of short manuals, surprisingly well, enough functions and with less effort. Edit: I started the new topic here: walt.farrell 1 Quote

By the way, I think my confusion was caused by your "posing my question ... led to no results" as I interpreted that as "when I posted my question here before, no one answered". Vs, what I now think you meant, "I did a web search for ... and got no results". Hazelord Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 I just download the featuring artwork Shihatsu densha, but as I zoomed in, the brush it used was hard edge (right), and as I try to replica it and make my brush hard to 100% (left) still have soft edges, anyone knows why? The DPI comes in 72. Quote
