Christian Kogler
Hi, I've been trying now for appr. 20 min to transform a selection as you describe it in the help section - usually the help section is quite useless for everybody who is not completely familiar with Affinity terminology - but those of us are actually the ones who need it most. The help pages are obviously written by pros, but not checked by beginners. The "move" tool doesn't transform my ellipse selection - so - what can I do? GarryP
Edit: [What was I thinking? See post below.] You cannot move a selection using the Move Tool itself but You can go into Quick Mask mode, then select the Move Tool and then move the selection – see attached video. You can also manipulate the selection in other ways – stretch/rotate/perspective/etc. – while in Quick Mask mode, but you need to be aware that the ‘pixels’ of the selection may be ‘squished/elongated’. 2022-09-22 10-01-30.mp4 Edited September 22, 2022 by GarryP Added clarification. Ron P.
Are you wanting to move/relocate the selection without affecting the pixels? Wanting to copy the pixels in the selection? Is the layer locked? It will have the padlock on the right side of the layer in the layers panel. Click it or the padlock located at the top-right of the layers panel to unlock it. Then you can use the move tool to move the selection. Quote Affinity Photo 2.4..; Affinity Designer 2.4..; Affinity Publisher 2.4..; Affinity2 Beta versions. PixelPest
You can select/Copy&Paste from a locked layer - you can not select+transform from a locked layer.
