Hi!

I have a A6 flyer to be printed 4-Up on A4

But I have a problem getting it scaled and centered for the correct printing.

Here's settings that works. But it feels like a hack.

Fit to printable don't seem to work. And less than 12mm left margin cuts of image (although my printer margins are far less)

What's your recommended workflow?

Q2: I also need to make a pdf with 4-Up. What do you recommend here?

For which which Affinity app?

A1:  This might be doc page & contents placement related, also printer driver access & accuracy setup dependent (relative to the used values setup here for layout/scaling/... etc.). - In other words, often needs fine tuning the doc contents itself and the printer settings, thus try & success or error.

A2:  There are several different ways one can do here, like saving as PDF from the print panel then (as far as print dialog setup has succeeded and is Ok). Alternatively taking over the A6 doc contents and placing/arranging it 4-times on a A4 doc page accordingly and exporting the whole as PDF then. Or exporting just the A6 doc as PDF and then using things like Acrobat to build a 4-up PDF output for that, ... etc. - You've to see what gives the best wanted results for your individual workflow here!

This is controlled by your Printer Driver and not Affinity itself. I'd recommend checking your settings under 'Properties...' in the screenshot you've provided, as this should open the driver settings.

I'd recommend making sure you have the latest driver, directly form the manufacturers website in order to ensure your printers margins are being correctly detected and applied.

You can change the 'Printer' in the dialog to 'Microsoft Print-to-PDF', which will 'Print' a PDF document to your PC, using the Print N-Up settings.

I hope this clears things up :)

Thanks, I'll just try then.

Mm.. I don't think that's the case here. If I set left margin to 11mm the picture border is cut of. Yet my printer has some 0mm or 3mm margin.
Yes, when I get the 4-Up-setup right, I can "Print to pdf"

Thanks for providing this file for me!

I have printed this here, using the following settings:

As can be seen in the printed document, the margins are exactly as there were set in the app:

As I've confirmed above, the margins of your printer itself are controlled by the printer driver in use. I'd recommend uninstalling the current driver and reinstalling the latest from Cannons website.

Thanks! But there was no question about that. I can use those settings and print as you did.

My issue is:

- Centering total print on page

- Scale to margins

- Maximizing scale

I'm just wondering if, rather than using 4-up printing, it would be easier just to arrange four copies of the original on an A4 sheet?

Over the years, I've often needed to print 2, 4 (or more) copies of an item on a single sheet, and I've usually found that doing the layout myself is easier than messing around with n-up print settings!

It's mostly printer driver & doc size/layout setup & contents arrangement dependent. - Here as default for MacOS with a Canon S900 driver with a 100% scale for 4-Up on A4 ...

Yes, that's my conclusion as well.

But it would be nice if Affinity Suite could have a good N-Up print option.
