Madame
When I want to open a picture I have been working on; Open recent, the menu is empty. The only thing showing is "Clear menu" which I didn't do... ever. I've been looking in the preferences, but I can't find anything. What am I missing? barninga
 not found here, madame... my "open recent" menu is full of aphoto, jpg and png files. i use versione 1.4.1 beta; is yours 1.4.1 released? Quote take care, stefano
Madame
I don't use the beta. I had the option of open recent a while ago. I think it was in this 1.4 version. I would rather not download the beta to save space on my mac. markw
"Open Recent..." is working fine for me in both the current Photo and Designer MAS versions. barninga
in the Library/Preferences folders there should be one or more com.seriflabs.* files (depending on how many kinds of affinity photo you installed over time - beta, production, trial) you can try deleting them, but i fear that this mean resetting photo to its defaults - not very desirable if you fine tuned them. at least, you can move those files elsewhere, see if the problem is solved and decide whether to restore them in place or not. just be sure that photo is not running when you move the files back and forth. Madame
I found that when I rightclick the app symbol in the dock, all the recent files are listed there (they are not open in the app, just the last one) It's fine by me.. but maybe it's a bug? Madame
I tried to reset the app (holding ctrl when opening Photo and select clear), but that didn't help. barninga
the right click on the icon in the dock works the same for me, the difference is that those same files i find also selecting the open recent item in the menu file. i tried with my 1.4 copy and the recent file list appears to be correctly populated. it's hard to say if you triggered a bug, but anyway it looks like it's something with your setup. Staff MEB Posted January 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted January 4, 2016 Hi Madame, Check OS X Preferences, General tab, Recent Items dropdown in the bottom of the dialog. Does it display 16? Can you try to change it to None then back to 16 and check if the list is correctly populated (after opening a few files again)? Madame
Thank you, MEB. It displayed NONE. I tried to change it to 15, but it wouldn't "stick". I had to restart my Mac and it changed to 10 by itself. ✔︎ One annoing bug ticked. :) Quote - Affinity Photo 2.3.0 - Affinity Designer 2.3.0 -Affinity Publisher 2.3.0 MacBook Pro 16 GB MacOS Sonoma 14.1.
nzBill
I had the same problem but had misread the solution given by MEB. When I checked macOS System Preferences' General tab, the number of Recents had been set to zero. Increasing it to 5 produced the result I was after. Edited October 14, 2018 by nzBill Question was adequate answered by MEB; I misread it.
