I have several background textures placed in a A.Pub document. I'd like to be able to click on any of these textures (or photographs) and be able to ascertain a specific file's name, link status ("OK" or Missing") and it's file path and in order to locate the file's folder.  In QXP, you select the object, go to "usage" in the menu and you get a dialog window listing every picture, every font, every table, every profile, etc. etc. used in the document, each with the file name, link status, file type, bit-depth, etc.—and the full file path to where each file lives. This is an incredibly helpful feature.  Where is this feature in Publisher?!  I've searched and searched . . .

Thanks,

Thanks for responding, Walt.

I had found "Resource Manager" prior to posting but I didn't/don't see any file path info or how to invoke same. In fact, all it shows is the Document name, not even the names & info of each file on each page—which is what I want.

Thanks,

All the information you want is there. Perhaps your window is too small to see it? The dialog is resizable.

What window do you look at? – The Resource Manager does not show the Document name of your .afpub but lists the used resources with their file paths at its bottom.

Do you have any of the placed items selected (highlighted) in the Resource Manager window? If not, no file path info will show & none of the buttons will work (they all will be greyed out). But if you have at least one selected a file path should show up just above the button row along the bottom of the window & depending on how many are selected various of the buttons will be enabled.

Walt; Tomaso; RC-R,

Thanks all for responding.

I'm trying to attach a screenshot of the APub window with the resource window overlay showing that when a document object line is highlighted in the Resource window, the name at the bottom of the screen shows just the document name, not the object name.

Unfortunately, nothing happens when I press SHIFT-COMM-3 or SHIFT-COMM-4—no screen grab is produced. When I open the Grab app—which is my usual screenshot solution—the Resource Window overlaying the Pub. window disappears. So, I don't know of any way to grab the Resource Window to show it to you. Obviously, R C-R does . . . 😕

What's the solution?

Thanks,

The combined variety of your experienced issues sounds so strange that I wonder if closing all apps + rebooting your mac would help?
