Bobby Beetle
I use the arrow keys a lot for rotating my brushes, but it can be time consuming, especially when trying to do two sides of something equally. You have to press an arrow key quite a number of times to get the same opposite angle. I would love a flip brush horizontally, and vertically. Does this exist? an example of what I mean: I am currently painting a gorilla. The hairs on both sides are at similar angles, but opposite. To be able to flip the brush, and then fine tune with the arrows, would be a massive time saver.
carl123
What sort of brush, Vector or Pixel? Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Bobby Beetle
Mainly the paint brush tool in Affinity Photo. However, i also use vector in Designer, so I am open to any shortcuts you may have. I have changed the title of the post to specify Affinity Photo. carl123
1. In APhoto you have the Rotation Jitter under the brush setting (Dynamics tab) which if set to Maximum and Direction will cause the brush to flip when painting from... Left to Right Right to Left Up Down 2. Also, in Brush settings (General tab) you have Rotation which can rotate the brush in any direction. If you have a large enough screen, you can keep this tab open if you need to flip often in a session I am not aware of any shortcut keys to do the above Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Bobby Beetle
Although not perfect, Option 2 may be a work around. Thanks.
Ron P.
You using a mouse or pen tablet? If you're using a pen tablet that has recognition of various dynamics such as pressure, there is a setting on the Dynamics tab, Tilt. Using this I think could do better for you than any shortcut. 2022-08-26 02-04-25.mp4 Quote Affinity Photo 2.4..; Affinity Designer 2.4..; Affinity Publisher 2.4..; Affinity2 Beta versions. I am not sure this would work for what you want, but have you considered first drawing all the hairs on one side & (optionally) grouping them. Then duplicate the group or all of the individual hairs & drag them to the other side. Finally, with all of the dupes selected use Arrange > Flip Horizontal to flip them. You can assign a keyboard shortcut to Flip Horizontal if you want. Although I think it has the tilt function, it doesn’t seem to help in this situation. It may be the fur brush that I am using.

Bobby Beetle
I think the best solution for me is keeping the brush setting tab open.
