Chills Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Hi I have a series of logos. Basically a base design with a series of 6 variations of words. Each with a different colour object. By turning on and off viability I can export as a PNG any one of the 6. My problem is I have to send the whole thing in editable format to a designer using Adobe illustrator. I can't find a way of saving/exporting it so it can be used in the same way in illustrator. At least I can't load it to my CS6 illustrator. Anyone got any suggestion? However seeing one of the Affinty videos on YoutTube about this very subject I am going to break my series of 6 logos in one file (done by turning on and off layers) I am going to seperate them into 6 seperate and simple files with just the vidable layers for each logo. I can't demonstrate as it is "Client Confidential" Quote www.JAmedia.uk and www.TamworthHeritage.org.uk [Win 11 | AMD Ryzen 5950X 16 Core CPU | 128GB Ram | NVIDIA 3080TI 12GB ] [MB ASUS ProArt B550| C Drive:; 1TB M2 980 Pro | D Drive; 2TB M2 970 EVO ]

I would make all objects (12?) visible and export them as PDF. The designer should then switch off what he does not need. 😎 Quote Thanks to DeepL.
Chills Posted August 25, 2022 Author Posted August 25, 2022 I am giving up..... I am going to re do the design in Illustrator (CS6) for compatability. When it has been tweaked I will import it into afDesigner as the master. It will be faster to do that than all the faffing about with exports to PDF etc etc I am also recommending the grafics place gets the Affinity programs to use in future. PaoloT Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 I'm also still keeping Illustrator CS6 around just for compatibility. Unfortunately, this kind of issue is still very relevant, and not solved. Hoping it can be solved. Paolo Quote

I am recommending that the Graphics House I am dealing with gets some seats of Affinity in. For them, cost wise, it is a drop in the ocean but it means they will be able to work with people using Affinity as an affordable alternative to Adobe. This is certainly appearing to be the case in the video/photography areas that are not using Adobe's video editors. As Serif will know from their sales this is a growing number.
