NotMyFault
Hi, i get reproducible crash (after long freeze) when activating the live displacement filter (and parent image layer), and adjusting strength. The values tend to erratically jump from -512 to +512 (it is a bug on its own that you can’t adjust strength by gesture or pencil in reasonable steps) after a few iterations, Photo Freezes, and finally crashes. Mildly NSFW content (from pixabay). iPad M1 Latest iPad OS PS: after placing the image from pixabay into the existing document, clip canvas lead to erratic size / overflow. Using crop tool, shows size is maxed at 65k despite navigator panel shows larger values. Paul Mudditt
Not sure if this is relevant but on looking at this design on my Mac, I was wondering if your problems were anything to do with using image layers rather than pixel layers, because I had seen many problems previously using image layers and pixel operations. So when I tried to rasterise the image layer on my Mac Affinity Photo crashed, so may be worth starting again but since you are doing pixel operations to rasterise the image layers first. Staff NathanC Posted June 14, 2022 Staff Share Posted June 14, 2022 I've found that when replicating this that the iPad does encounter these freezes when changing the strength of the displacement filter and sometimes when activating it, however, this appears to be related to the Hidden live filter layers that are above the image layer, when these layers are removed this was working as expected. As Paul mentioned, I also encounter this unrecoverable freeze when attempting to rasterise the image layer on Mac/Win, on the iPad this caused it to outright crash when rasterising. This might relate to the CPU/Memory spike when rasterising the image. This does not occur when the live filter layers are removed. Either way i've logged this with the developers for resolution.
