Kevin18
Good afternoon, guys. Does anyone know how to copy the size and location of one layer to another? Since resizing and locating an image so that it is the same as another is very tedious. Please I hope your help. In the attached image I show the example, layer 1 I want to have the size and location of layer 2. Thank you.
walt.farrell
Just a comment for the future: As you're not using a Beta release of Photo, it's more appropriate to ask in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows). A Moderator will probably move it for you to keep the forums tidy Kevin18 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
Old Bruce
I am not really sure what you are wanting. Perhaps use the Transform panel to get the coordinates of the selected layer. Or perhaps use snapping to move the selected layer to the location of the second layer. Turn off the visibility of the other layers to make this easier. Quizás use el panel Transformar para obtener las coordenadas de la capa seleccionada. O tal vez use el ajuste para mover la capa seleccionada a la ubicación de la segunda capa. Desactive la visibilidad de las otras capas para que sea más fácil. Hello Old, thanks for your answer. Here is the clearest example. I would like to copy from the red star (layer2) its size and location and paste those attributes to the blue star (layer1). I have used the Transform window, but copying and pasting each axis takes a lot of time. Isn't there a faster way to copy and paste this? NotMyFault
There is no direct way, but you may use some optimizations: use align functions to align one side of both shapes (hor/vert). Select anchor point left or right depending where the target layer sits. if snapping is active, use mouse and modifier key to resize one object (centered) until it size snaps to the other. This requires fewer clicks and no keyboard input, but you beed to enable the suitable snapping actions. Those can be saved as preset. I forgot which object gets aligned, probably depending on position in layer stack Kevin18 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. From the beginning of my use of Photo and Designer and finally Publisher I have lamented the lack of a Paste Replace which would replace the selected item(s) or a Paste Here using the mouse's context menu click as a location. It is a huge time saver. hape13 and Kevin18 2 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.
