walt.farrell
There are many differences between the iPad applications and the desktop applications. Why consider this one a bug? NotMyFault
Because reporting platform discrepancies via bug reports is the usual process to make Affinity aware of them. At least it worked that way until today, and i never got a hint from mods that it isn’t the correct way, or how to do it in a better way. Just the opposite, “accepted” reports got tagged with an bug id, letting me assume that this is actually the way how Affinity wants the reports raised. example: walt.farrell 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Staff Lee D Posted May 6, 2022 Staff Share Posted May 6, 2022 This isn't so much a bug within the iPad version but a feature request to have the option added.

Unless, perhaps, it causes problems if you Open a file that has a clipping path in it? It will probably open, but if you save over the original file the clipping path probably get lost. I will try later when having access to my Mac (to create such file). Edit: Test showed iPad opens jpg files with clipping path correctly, but is unable to save them with clipping path. It will saved as single flattened layer with matted background, clipping path removed. The tests are a bit over-shadowed as saving on iPad is unreliable currently. If I save as afphoto (to keep clipping path), my edits will get lost (known bug on iPad) Edited May 7, 2022 by NotMyFault Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. It is sometimes unclear and more up to personal preferences / company decisions. And i never understood when a post in the wrong section got moved by mods, or has to be filed again by users. Like in this specific case - which way do you want it?
