lorenz_
Hi all! I'm usually working with adobe, but have to do a job on publisher. I have the problem that text blocks always jump a whole unit when I move them, rather than just moving by point. Is there any option to tick on, that allows me to move text blocks freely? Big thanks in advance! Lorenz
Komatös
Hello @lorenz_ and welcome to the forums. Hold the ALT key (on Windows) while moving the text box. Generally, Alt on Windows = Opt on Mac. By the way, make sure you start moving the text frame before you press the Alt/Opt key. If you press it before you actually start moving it will cause duplication of the frame and you'll move the copy. lorenz_
I can move it perfectly fine left/right. But up and down still jumps a row. Even with pressing alt/option..
Old Bruce
These problems sound like Snapping is on. The vertical 'jumping' is probably caused by the text being set to use the baseline. You can turn it off in the paragraph style, or in the Text Frame pane. walt.farrell
Assuming you're in Publisher, the vertical issue is probably related to the Baseline Grid, which can be enabled in the Text Frame panel, or the Baseline Grid Manager, or the Paragraph panel, or a Paragraph Text Style. walt.farrell
Screenshots from Publisher, in the Publisher Persona. If these don't help, you might consider providing us with a sample .afpub document that has the problem.
