I am trying to learn a skill on Youtube and when I convert to curves then put the black area on creating then divide the R fills in and as you can see the small red make on to is that area but it does not go away when I pull it out. Am I doing something wrong? I am watching an Illustrator video and making it work with AD maybe that is it please help.

When you take the Type, the Text and convert to curves, Add all the curves that are the letters into one Curves layer, note the s on the word Curves in the resulting layer.

Now you can subtract the triangle from the letters. Or vice versa if that is what you want.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Try taking it a step at a time. If you type an R and ‘Convert to Curves’ you should see two objects in the Layers panel: an R silhouette and a D shape for the hole. Select both and use the ‘Subtract’ command to get back to an R shape which will be a single ‘Curves’ layer instead of two ‘Curve’ layers.

The problem is that she's trying to Divide, not Subtract. And Affinity and AI work... um....(must be polite).... erm.... differently in this regard.
(SNS, having flashback to my very first post here.... ahem, almost 7 yrs ago 😔)

@Diane Window 10 Desktop AD you're going to have to select that little red piece and the piece of the R below it and do an extra separate Subtract on just them. This would have to be done on any other interior cutout that was not directly impacted by the Divide. In other words you got lucky it was just that one spot.... e.x. the space in the A just missed the same situation.
