Affinity Publisher - PDF File Type Not Supported

Recommended Posts

I'm using Affinity Publisher (Desktop Version 1.10.4.1198).  All I'm trying to do is import a PDF file into my Affinity Publisher document using the "Place" function.  I created the PDF using my HP printer scanning software.  I've attached the file that I scanned as a generic example as it doesn't really matter WHAT I scan.  Regardless of what I scan into a PDF, Affinity Publisher gives me the message "file type not supported."  Why?  Adobe Acrobat can read it fine.  And I know that a PDF file *** IS *** a supported file type.

Thanks!

FWIW, when I try to open the file in Affinity on my Mac, the error is "Cannot parse file," not "file type not supported."

Other apps I have on my Mac like Apple's Preview, Pixelmator Pro, & many  others open it without issues.

Anyway this PDF seems to be a bit malformed. There are so many PDF libs out there, some good, some bad. This one seems to be generated by a bad one. Simply re-saving in Foxit Reader fixes the problem.
