carl123
A screenshot would have been nice, but first try pressing the Tab key Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. FraGar
Did you try to "Reset user defaults" in Preferences? CTRL+, Then "Miscellaneous" Then "Reset user defaults"
RichardMH
How are you opening Affinity? Open with? What happens if you double click the icon or run it from the app menu?

You don't provide a lot of information in order to know what happens exactly. However, what you describe is 'standard' behavior when you hit the 'TAB' key. This key switches to a kind of 'full screen' mode. Hitting the 'TAB' key once more, returns to the 'normal' Affinity user interface with tools and panels.
