All files created in Publisher are now all showing opening in Design

I had the 30 day trial and have just purchased both Publisher and Designer. All the files I created in Publisher are showing as Desiger files and text pages aren't showing. I have to do an 'Open With' to get them up as publisher. Not the extra steps I want to take. Is there a way to have my files open in Publisher?

Are you on Mac or Windows. On Mac you can go to the Finder and choose any Publisher made document with the extension .afpub then hit the Get Info shortcut, Command + I and you can then choose the Open With section to change all the Publisher files to open with Publisher.

When you go to "Open with" instead of clicking on Affinity Publisher, click on "Choose another app". Then click on Affinity Publisher and tick "Always use this app to open .afpub files." Click "OK".

Hi @jwardzala,

Please right-click on your .afpub file and select Open With > Choose another app - in the dialog that opens, please select Affinity Publisher and be sure to tick Always use this app to open .afpub files, then click OK.

You should find that Publisher now opens with your document, and will no longer launch in Designer
