Hello, What i want to do is to select a mask and simply invert it.

i am not finding CTRL+I for mask inversion, do i miss something or it is simply not there?

Thanks in advance

The Invert Layer functionality is only available in Photo.
There have already been requests to add it to Designer’s Pixel Persona but I can’t see that happening any time soon.

You’re welcome.
(I could be wrong about Designer not getting this functionality any time soon, so keep checking the beta release notes for functionality changes.)

There is a workaround.

  • You can ALT (Windows), click on the Create Mask icon in the Layers Panel. This produces the same is Inverting it. OR the long way around;
  • Create your Mask, go into the Pixel Persona.
  • Using the Flood Fill Tool, and with the Mask layer selected Flood Fill it with Black.
  • Now you can Paint back in what you need.

In theory you could use one of the three alpha capable adjustments (levels, curves, color mixer) to invert the alpha channel and nest it to the mask.

unfortunately there are multiple bugs unsolved so it does not always work reliable at least up to 1.10.4,

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

Probably not relevant here but is there some reason you are using the iPad version of AD for your video?

When i have temporary no access to my PC, i sometimes use iPad in cases where there are no platform differences making it impossible to use the same workflow. Mostly i add a note explaining this fact - unless i forget. In this case others already provided viable solutions, so my post was only adding another option for sake of curiosity and completeness. Hopefully nobody got harmed 😉.
