The title is not very precise, so here is the recipe.

1. Have a formerly saved document open. Do some changes to the document, so that the document tab shows [Modified].

2. Switch e.g. to Preferences > Performance and turn on / off Hardware Acceleration and click Yes for restart.

3. You get a warning that there is an unsaved document. Click Yes to save.

Result: Application closes, but it is not restarting.

Same here on Mac OS 11.6.1

Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi @Joachim_L,

Thanks for reporting this. I've been able to replicate it on Windows and i've just logged it with the Dev team.

@Old Bruce Which option did you disable/enable?  I've just tried this on MacOS 12.0.1 and disabled Metal Compute and the app restarted for me :(

Going from memory here any of the items that require a restart.

I'll get the Restart Now? dialog. Then the Do you want to save the document dialog, I say yes and the application quits but does not restart. The Document is saved.

I'll poke this some more, i had thought i'd managed to replicate it once but when i retested, before logging it with Dev, i couldn't replicate it on all 3 apps.  I'll restart my Mac and try again :)

@stokerg

The unsaved document dialog is the key.
