Affinity Photo Export Persona Slices aspect ratio

Recommended Posts

Hi.  I've been searching, but I can't find a way in any tutorial, although there must be one:

in the export persona, how to give the slices a default aspect ratio (1x1, 4x5, whatever ...), and not having to move the sliders by hand, almost impossible to adjust the size with pixel precision.

If anyone knows where that option is, I would appreciate the help.

If using the Slice Tool, you can set the H/W size (aspect ratio) in the Transform panel

Then maintain that aspect ratio by using the shift key when making the slice bigger or smaller by dragging the slice's handles on screen

Not sure about the Windows versions but on the Mac versions, with the Slices Tool enabled, the Status bar at the bottom of the document window briefly lists all the modifier key options, which change dynamically as you move the pointer over a node, inside, or outside the slice.

So for example, when over a node, the Shift key constrains the aspect ratio, the ⌘ (command) key resizes around the center of the slice, & the option key ignores snapping. All of these modifiers can be used in any combination, so there are lots of options available.

I mean the points in the corners and in the center of the lines of the frame that you are creating, which you drag to change their size.

Ok, this works!  Also,  to the right of the dimensions boxes, there is a small icon to lock the aspect ratio once defined.

Thanks!

The corner points are usually called handles or control handles. Sliders usually refer to items with a bar & a movable dot, like the ones in the Color panel when it is set to "Sliders," or the "Position" adjuster in the History panel.
