Hi,

Can anyone help me please as I have suddenly started having problems when I try and add a curve adjustment.

I add the curve adjustment as normal and as soon as I click on the line to drag up or down everything goes a vivid green colour.

Is there a setting I have hit by mistake - HELP!

Everything else seems to be working OK.image.png.5665f7654cae5e823620dd6ebefef462.png

Many thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply.

There are no other adjustment layers.

I have tried a curve adjustment to a photo with other adjustment layers already in place but I get the same problem

could you please upload these files:

1. a CR2 file which lead to the issue

2. the .afphoto file showing the issue

3. a screenshot including the histogram (tools panel) and the channels tool with the curves layer inactive

4. a screenshot including the histogram (tools panel) and the channels tool with the curves layer activated

Possible cause:

  • When you switched (by accident) from "Master" to red, and added a node, or moved the right node from 1 to lower values, this could lead to the issue. Try to click "reset" in the top right of the curves UI, and ensure that "Master" is active. Then again try to modify the curve.
  • Deactivated red and blue channel in channels tool. Click the reset symbol (circle-shaped arrow).

Hi,

Thanks for being gentle with me as I struggle with complex instructions!

The issue seems to be the same with a raw or jepeg file.

I attach screen shots with / without the curves active from a developed RAW photo.

I have already tried resetting my curve and then selecting away from master and then back to master (and all combinations of) but this has had no effect

I have deactivated the curve adjustment, re-set the channels and added another curve adjustment but still no luck.

Anymore help you can give me would be so much appreciated

Assuming you are on Windows OS: Could you please try and deactivate OpenCL under Edit>Preferences >Performance

Hi,

Brilliant - that appears to have worked.

Thank you so much.

Just to tidy up can you advise what OpenCL actually does (in simple terms!!) and will there be any other effects of switching this off.

Thanks

OpenCL allows Photo to use the GPU for processing and speed things up. It misbehaves with some GPUs. I have it turned off as it crashes Photo occasionally and don't really notice. A clean install of graphics drivers might help.

Thanks, I've noticed Affinity does crash sometimes - maybe this was the reason.

I guess sRGB? ROMM RGB was the default that came with the system - I very much doubt I changed it!
