I have recently updated Publisher/Designer/Photo to version 1.10 and since doing so,

a. I sometimes have trouble opening Publisher, it launches, the splash screen displays then it shuts down, there is no evidence of it being open when I look in Task Manager.  Last time this happened, it took 3 attempts before it would launch correctly

b. I am receiving errors when trying to export a 5 page document to PDF (digital - High quality), I have noticed that it sits trying to calculate the Estimated File Size: but never report a size at all.

I have tried other versions of the PDF export and a number of them fail the same as the above.

I have attached the original .afpub so it can be tested.

Thanks

Tim.

Hi @AnaliseThis

On Page 2 there is a link to a microsoft page and this hyperlink includes a space in which is not valid and is causing it to error when exporting.

This is a bug on our side (it shouldn't error) but the hyperlink would still not work on export, so fixing this should remove the error and generate the correct url when you export

Thanks

Sorry for the problem you are experiencing with 1.10.0

There is a new Affinity Publisher 1.10.1 beta for Windows that addresses this problem with PDF export, which you can use if you want to (as well/instead)

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I didnt see the space in the hyperlink on page 2 but the fact that you mentioned the link was to a Microsoft web page lead me to page 3 where I found the fault and corrected it. It now exports correctly.  Thanks Jon.

I have also downloaded the Beta version to try out as well. Thanks Patrick.

I have all three apps as you know from my previous posting and they are the best suite of software I have ever used. Keep up the good work guys.  Well done.

I am getting the same error message. Last month I created a newsletter in Affinity Publisher. I exported one press-ready PDF for the printers and one digital copy with hyperlinks for our website. Everything worked fine. I just realised that the issue number was incorrect, so I changed that and now want to export a replacement digital PDF for our website. But since updating Publisher, I can no longer export form a file that contains hyperlinks. I tried the press-ready version of the document (which has no hyperlinks) and I can still export to PDF.

There seems to be a problem with hyperlinks in exported PDF's since the update. When are we likely to see a fix for this?

Well there is already a 1.10.1 beta build that we think addresses the problem exporting hyperlinks and you can install it in parallel with your release and it should export your file. We would appreciate you trying that first to check that there is not a different problem with your file.

1.10.1 will be released shortly I would expect, (a few weeks or so would be normal for us to find and fix regressions like this one)

Is there any help for Mac OS users? a beta for us? I need to find a way to resolve this issue too. Is there someone I can send the file to for help?
