I've been using the Publisher 2.3.0 (on my M1 iMac / Sonoma OS 14.1.2) and love it. Today, I went to edit a hyperlink that points to an anchor but discovered that all my hyperlinks (to anchors) won't update/save. They all show the first item in my anchor list. If I create a new link, save and reopen the change isn't saved (still shows the first item in my anchor list) ## The weird thing: when I export to PDF all the links work...I just can't edit any existing hyperlinks or create new ones. I can't see which anchor is real because they all show as the first anchor in my list of anchors) ## I restarted the computer, same thing I shutdown the computer, waited and booted back up, same thing I open a different file, same thing (all the hyperlinks show as the first item in the anchors menu) I created a new file (thinking my old ones may have been corrupt) but the same thing I deleted the application (dragged it from my application folder to the trash) and downloaded a fresh copy (thinking the program may have been corrupted since it was happening in all files) and same thing Is there a file in the Library I need to delete also?

I changed the name of the folder with the assets and when it opened, it asked me to find them which I did. Is that what you mean? Is there anything in Resource Manager that shows they are remote links? How do I know when I'm successful at doing what Mike suggested? And to be clear. You were able to open that file (Prime Companion SW 5.2.8)? It's coming up as correct on my iMac.

Yes Walt, I was trying some of the suggestion and working with Apple. I was hoping the files I posted would help Leo see what's going on. But i haven't heard back. v. 1.x was so stable! I'm such a fool to jump on a new version. If it's not broke, don't change it. But it worked for a while and I would have had to redo too much to roll back. And so far it remains the worst kind of problem...intermittent. Sometime I can open the file and save a change. Sometimes I can't and have to do Save As.. sometimes that works, sometimes it says it can't open the file but if I give it a day I can. Making training materials is my livelihood. Important projects that I've been working on for years and maintaining and all of a sudden the files are getting corrupted, won't open, won't save...more than frustating. I'm concerned I'll either lose all my work or have to recreate work I've done from a back up but if the file is correct, is that backup file partially corrupt? will I have to do the same thing a few days later? Again, I really appreciate help from Leo (staff) and members but the issue is still on-going. I think I need help from the manufacturer so I'll messaged them on Facebook. I provided my files for analysis and haven't heard back from anyone at the company. Is there no remote connection (team viewer) or do the log and project files tell the story? If so, I'd love to hear what they found.

MikeTO Now it won't let me save the file (see screenshot of the message). I am running to v. 2.1 I believe I have it set up as you described (access the files locally and not through the cloud). I renamed my asset folder on my HD to force Publisher to make a fresh link to the files. I I shared read/write permissions for all user (so why can't it be written to?). Any ideas?

Affinity Publisher Constantly Crashing!
Brent Pedersen replied to EmilyfromBrightspotDesign's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
I have Affinity Publisher 2.04. Some days it works fine. Other days importing graphics causes it to crash and eventually the document tells me the file may be corrupt when I open it. Why is it doing that? Are there settings I should be using? I'm on Mac OS 13.3.1 with iCloud turned off, Metal turned off. Is there a limit to how many hyperlinks I can add? how many graphics I can place? I don't know what's going on. Can you look at this file and recover it? Prime Companion 5.2.8.afpub- 8 replies

Most of the crashing happens when trying to place new files. Sometimes I can Save as... and give it a new name, other times it says the file is corrupt and I have to restore an older version. Sometimes that vision opens but then says it can't be read. Are there settings I should be using? I'm not using iCloud anymore. I turned off Metal. When I lose the file and have to restore off of backup I don't have the confidence that it won't happen again. Is this a known issue. I've been battling this since upgrading to 2.04 from 1.x Rookie mistake to upgrade when everything was stable. And now I can't go back. Please help.

I've been using Affinity Publisher v1 over a year with hardly ever a crash. So I upgraded to v2 and now both it (v2) and v1 are crashing all the time. I just want to go back to v1 when it was stable. What do I have to do to roll back? What do I need to remove that was installed with v2 that's causing the crashing? I think v2 will eventually become stable but I use this for work, I can't wait.

Love the program. I made 400+ page interactive PDF. Today I tried to add a new anchor (Anchor 284 it said). I type in the name for the anchor and click OK and it pauses for a sec and then crashes. I restarted the computer, shut down the computer and tried again without any other apps running and still happens. Did a Save As.. and opened the new file and same thing. Is there a limit to the number of anchors Affinity Publisher can add? Any suggestions? Win 10
