augustya
Well ! not to offend Affinity Photo Lovers here. But we all know how Affinity Photo takes its inspiration from Photoshop. So if it does takes inspiration from Photoshop. Why does Affinity Photo not have a Automated AI Powered Select Tools? Like "Select Subject 'or "Remove Background" as it is available in Photoshop. It will make life so much easier for people like me for whom getting the right selection is the key to start and get on with other things ? Maybe any of the Mods can shed some light on this. is this feature in Making or in reckoning to be added eventually to Affinity Photo on the iPad and Desktop ? I really really wish this happens. Staff Dan C Posted July 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted July 28, 2021 Hi @augustya, Many thanks for your feedback here! Our developers have previously confirmed that we're focussed on the primary functions of the Affinity apps before implementing any AI functionality. We certainly may look to add these in the future, as I can understand how they would improve workflows in Affinity, but unfortunately we have no eta for this at this time. In the meantime, I'll be sure to move this thread to the Feedback section of our forums, so that our devs can see and consider your request. I hope this helps

Staff Dan C Posted July 28, 2021 Staff Share Posted July 28, 2021 We do not market ourselves as a "straight copy" of Photoshop, nor do we consider ourselves this. Our developers are creating their own application, with their own coding. This means Affinity Photo will be different from Photoshop and will have different features available, please expect this. Tart
Hello everyone Firstly, congratulations on the V2 release! I love working with Affinity muhc more then with Photoshop, the only thing I miss a bit is the AI functionality. I am just wondering if integrating AI selection tools is also on the roadmap of Affinity developers? Thank you.
Staff Dan C Posted November 21, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 21, 2022 Thanks for your kind feedback! This has been requested elsewhere on our forums and is something we hope to look to implement in the future - though we have no timescale for this currently, my apologies. Terry Brooks
The lack of AI and lack of support for Fujifilm X-H2 raw files are the only reasons I have not upgraded to V2 and probably won't. For what it's worth I would most certainly have happily paid double the price for Affinity Photo if it had the AI functions, without it there's seems to be no advantage to paying for V2. Don't get me wrong, I really like AP and do want to support it, just can't justify it and may have to opt for the Adobe subscription just to get support for my camera.
